Coastal Carbon is thrilled to announce that we have received $1.6 million in funding from Canada's Ocean Supercluster (OSC) for our AI-Driven Sensors for Seaweed Measurement Project. This critical investment will allow us to advance our proprietary sensor technology designed to remotely monitor seaweed biomass. In partnership with HoldFast NL, a seaweed farming operation, our project aims to deliver actionable, AI-quantified data that can drive regenerative seaweed farming practices and contribute to ocean restoration.

Our co-founder, Kelly Zheng, emphasizes the untapped potential of our oceans in combating climate change. Unfortunately, access to crucial underwater data has been a major obstacle. With this new funding, Coastal Carbon is poised to unlock this vital information. Our enhanced sensor and AI capabilities will not only accelerate the healing of ocean ecosystems but also instill greater confidence in stakeholders participating in the burgeoning blue carbon credit market.
